Process Credit Card Payments on the Internet

January 28th 2012 -

If you have a small business, you’re probably losing sales if you don’t accept credit card and debit card payments. Since debit cards have become so popular, many people have stopped using cash for most of their purchases. If you want to start accepting credit card payments at your business location, you will need a merchant account with a bank and a terminal for processing payments. In the past you would need to purchase a hardware terminal that communicates over telephone lines to process payments, but these days you can use what is known as virtual terminal credit card processing. A virtual terminal is a terminal which you access through a secure website, and can be used on any computer anywhere you have internet access. You can manually type in the credit card information, or use an inexpensive USB card device to swipe the card information into your computer for processing.
